Rocco - Walking for a Future Without Canine Cancer

Hi there!

My name is Rocco.  I'm a ten-year-old Miniature Schnauzer with big heart and an even bigger mission.  Earlier this year, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer - but thanks to incredible care and access to the groundbreaking immunotherapy vaccine, I'm still wagging my tail, chasing my brother, Ralphie and living life to the fullest.

I'm now stepping up - literally - for a cause close to my heart.  I'm taking part in a sponsored walk to raise money for canine cancer research, walking in honor of all the dogs still fighting, and in memory of those who have crossed the rainbow bridge.

Every pawstep I take is a tribute to hope and the belief that no pup should fight cancer alone.

Please support me on my walk and help fund life-saving research.  Together, we can give more dogs the chance to keep walking, playing, and living the lives they deserve.

Thank you! Love and kisses, Rocco

Rainier’s Metastatic Cancer Disappears

When Rainier, a gentle 8-year-old Akita from Roy, WA, was diagnosed with metastatic osteosarcoma, his family was told he had only months to live. But after enrolling in a clinical trial, something extraordinary happened—his cancer disappeared, leaving even his veterinary team astonished.

Rainier received an experimental EGFR/HER2 cancer vaccine—a new form of immunotherapy that’s now available at 11 locations across the U.S., thanks  to the support raised through Wag Love Life.

By joining Wag Love Life, you help fund the research and clinical trials that make stories like Rainier’s possible—and bring us closer to cures for more dogs.

Who is Rainier?  What was remarkable about his recovery?

Rainier is a nine-year-old Akita dog.  He was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2023, but unfortunately, the cancer spread to his lungs. Cancer metastasis is considered a death sentence for dogs, but with the help of an experimental immunotherapy vaccine made possible by Wag Love Life, he became cancer-free.  He will be joining our walk at Marymoor Park this year! You can learn more about Rainier here.
